We’re looking for organised, people-focused team members to join ARTRAGE’s Programming team and help deliver an incredible FRINGE WORLD 2027 experience for our artists.
FRINGE WORLD is offering a great opportunity for Perth writers who love FRINGE WORLD and who want to be involved in the 2027 Festival by contributing reviews to Fringefeed. Fringefeed is a fun and informative, one-stop shop for FRINGE WORLD news and reviews.
This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity to contribute during the Festival, which runs from 20 January to 14 February 2027. This opportunity is suitable for writers who would like to volunteer their time with a not-for-profit arts organisation, develop their writing skills and build a portfolio of published work.
Position Description
• Attend a minimum of four 2026 FRINGE WORLD shows for review purposes
• Submit reviews by the 24 hour deadline

FRINGE WORLD Volunteers

Volunteering with FRINGE WORLD is your chance to experience the magic of Australia’s largest annual celebration of arts and culture from the inside out. You’ll join a passionate community of creatives, event-lovers, and all-round legends who help make the festival come alive every night.
As a volunteer, you’ll play an important part in creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment. All volunteer roles follow WA Volunteer Rights and Responsibilities, ensuring that your contribution is valued, your time is respected, and your safety is always our priority.

Festival Site & Build Crew
Help bring ARTRAGE’s events to life! We’re recruiting general crew, tent builders, carpenters, scenic crew, forklift and telehandler operators, runners and truck drivers with an MR licence or higher to join our casual Site and Build Crew pool.
Applications: Assessed as they come in. Apply early. Recruitment will continue as positions become available.

The Roles
Help bring ARTRAGE’s events to life! We’re recruiting general crew, tent builders, carpenters, scenic crew, forklift and telehandler operators, runners and truck drivers with an MR licence or higher to join our casual Site and Build Crew pool.
Working with our Production team, you’ll help build, maintain and pack down Rooftop Movies, The Pleasure Garden and our satellite activation spaces. Duties vary by role and may include venue builds, infrastructure and décor installation, loading equipment, deliveries and collections.
We’re looking for reliable, practical people who communicate clearly, work safely and enjoy working as a team. We welcome experienced event crew and people with trade, construction, transport or warehouse backgrounds. General crew applicants don’t need a trade qualification.
Hours and availability
Work is offered on an ad hoc basis, with the most hours available during bump-in and bump-out. Fewer production shifts are available during live operations, and regular hours are not guaranteed.
Applicants can also express interest in Bars, Front of House and Box Office opportunities during this period.
You don’t need to be available for every work period. Tell us your preferred roles and availability when you apply.

Required qualifications
A White Card is required for all crew. Specialist roles require relevant experience, training and licences. Please see the position description for individual role requirements.

We aim for 10 business days post-deadline, but popular gigs = longer queues. If you nailed the brief, we’ll try to get in touch either way but can’t promise every applicant will hear back. Thanks for your effort, understanding, and (likely) existential dread.
